				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have always been relatively fit and pretty active but as I hit forty I started to notice that I was progressively becoming overweight and physically weaker. I realized that I had to make a greater effort to maintain my weight and to regain my strength. I made numerous attempts at getting back into shape by trying to walk regularly and attending various classes like yoga, pilates, aerobics etc.  But I would tend to lose my momentum after falling out of routine and not seeing or feeling results.</p>
<p>In early 2014, I was sharing my frustrations with a girlfriend and she invited me to join her for an exercise class that she recently started participating in locally. But as an overly committed working mom I made every excuse as to why I couldn’t commit.  So I proceeded down my path for another couple months until I started to notice her incredible results.  I decided it was time for me to stop making excuses and accept the invitation to join her for a session&#8230; That is when I had the privilege of meeting Ash and to experience what DNA Fitness was all about.</p>
<p>I immediately embraced the experience.  Ash was welcoming, encouraging and motivating.  With the numerous sessions on offer throughout the week, I could no longer use the excuse that “I am far to busy to fit in exercise into my day”. Within weeks I was noticing an improvement in my strength and stamina.  I have been participating for over a year now and still look forward to the next session. I didn&#8217;t have time to exercise &#8211; or so I thought. By forty, I finally admitted I was using my time-poor lifestyle as an excuse. I made myself get out of bed at 4.30am and go to bootcamp. After 2years, I realised that bootcamp was only giving me minimal results.</p>
<p>A friend convinced me to do DNA&#8217;s 12 week challenge. I instantly loved it and particularly loved this form of high resistance exercise. I noticed changes to my muscle tone in 6 weeks at DNA that I never achieved in my 2 years at bootcamp.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not a big gym person but love the idea of a personal trainer. Doug and Ash&#8217;s classes have the same one-on-one feeling as a P.T. without the price tag. Also, its much more fun exercising with a small group of people who I now consider my friends.</p>
<p>Doug and Ash have such a caring approach but always push you to do better. They will follow-up on how you are doing and if they don&#8217;t have the answer, will seek further opinions for you. (First new swimwear purchase for a long time!) The thing I like the best about the DNA team is how warm, friendly and down to earth Doug and Ash are and the way they challenge and encourage me so that I can make the most of every session. I have some physical limitations as the result of breast cancer surgery and my capacity to train can vary. Ash and Doug design every training session with my current health in mind and have liaised with my physiotherapist to ensure no further harm is done. While their skill and professionalism as personal trainers is second to none, what really keeps me going back is that they are lovely people who love life, enjoy their work and have a band of dedicated clients that they genuinely enjoy supporting with their fitness goals. 				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It was in January 2013, after a very festive holiday season that I decided I needed to do something about my health &#8211; I had just turned 41, was overweight, unhealthy and unfit and not a very good role model for my children. I saw a sign in a front yard advertising DNA Fitness and decided to email them and &#8220;just see&#8221; what they offered. For me, the fit was perfect.</p>
<p>I do not like gyms or the idea of bootcamps but I found small group training both fun and motivational. I think the reason for this is that both Doug and Ash are very committed to seeing you succeed &#8211; whatever your goals are &#8211; while making it an enjoyable experience in the process. After the first month or so, I decided to join the 12 week fitness challenge for some extra focus and motivation and loved it so much I did a second one at the end of 2013.</p>
<p>Over the 10 months I lost about 15kg and 8% body fat, but more importantly to me, I can fit back into my old clothes, I have regained my old confidence and I feel fitter and healthier than I did in my 20&#8217;s &#8211; my boys are pretty proud of me also. I know I could not have done it myself without the fun environment and continual support (including text message and email motivations) from Doug and Ash. In 2014 I am hoping to  do even more, to get fitter and stronger and maybe even run a half-marathon (with plenty of help of course).<br />

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I decided to do the 10 week body transformation challenge after seeing how successful a couple of my friends were in the previous challenge. I was already doing the circuit classes run by DNA Fitness and found that I had become more toned, fitter and stronger but was not having much success with losing the extra weight I was carrying. I needed to be more accountable for the food I was eating. Knowing I had to weigh in each Monday and write it on the board, helped me to be so. My biggest discovery was that although I believed I was eating well, I was actually eating more than I needed. While on the challenge I tracked everything I ate using the app “My Fitness Pal” and made sure I kept within my daily allowance of calories. Knowing you only have a certain amount of calories per day means you have to ensure that you are eating foods which are going to give you the best nutritional value. Eating well then reflected back into my training as I found that I was able to exercise better as I was feeling better.</p>
<p>Overall I lost 4.8kg, reduced by body fat percentage by 7% (which now puts me in the healthy range) and lost a total of 18.8cm. In fact, I was actually the winner, achieving the best results of the group. It goes to show that if you make that commitment for the 10 weeks, you will see changes. All along the way, I had the fantastic support and encouragement from Ashlee and Doug, as well as my family and the rest of the group; which is also an important part of the challenge. It is just the beginning of my new lifestyle. I plan to continue eating well and exercising. There is no time for any more excuses, I have proven to myself you can achieve things if you want to – no matter what age or stage of life you are at!<!--?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /--></p>

<p><i>I recently had the pleasure of participating in the inaugural DNA 12 week challenge in November 2012. </i></p>
<p><i>As part of the challenge Ash and Doug taught me<b><span style="text-decoration: underline;"> Perseverance!</span></b>  And that I am capable of doing things that I never thought were possible. Some days will be great, and you will feel on top of the world and other days you will not feel like getting out of bed and it all feels to hard !!!!! You feel like you are not getting any results. </i></p>
<p><i>Ash and Doug provided the best advice “Just persevere and be consistent with your approach and you will see the benefits” They were right!!!!! I achieved my goal, have now <b>lost 22 kgs </b>and have finally reached my goal weight. I now have a love of exercise, have met the greatest group of people and no longer feel embarrassed on how I look. </i></p>
<p><i> The support of Doug and Ash and the fellow challengers during the challenge was fantastic.  Doug and Ash not only provide training, they are also there with you each step of the way to offer support and encouragement. The training sessions each week, along with regular catch ups with the other challenges are what helped me achieve my goals. It is amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind and body to it!!!</i></p>

<p>Ash doesn’t see you as her client, she sees you as her friend and always checking up on you to make sure that you are keeping well – This shows the dedication and care that she has for her clients.</p>

<p>I was in the process of my second adoption and was told that &#8220;you don&#8217;t meet our criteria as your too overweight&#8221;.  Those few words shattered me and I felt like i&#8217;d let my husband and son down as they would also miss out on the opportunity of proceeding with another adoption because of me being overweight.</p>

After telling Ash my story she was determined to help me succeed and achieve my goal of losing weight. I can happily say that I have currently lost 17kg, I am a lot stronger mentally and physically, and I now have confidence to walk into any shop and can buy clothing in a size that I never thought i&#8217;d possibly fit into. I still have a few kg&#8217;s to go to get to my goal weight however with Ash&#8217;s help and some strong determination I know I will succeed.</p>
